“Cream Soda” is a drink made by floating ice cream in carbonated water. It has been attracting attention by men and women of all ages because of recent retro boom. It is said that “Cream soda” was born in the Meiji era. It was first sold in 1902 at the current Shiseido Parlor in Ginza, Tokyo. At that time, it was a luxury item for the common people and a fashionable drink. During the high-growth period, when freezers and ice cream became popular, “Cream soda” became familiar with more people. It is still seen in many cafés and coffee shops, and continues to be loved.
