The word ‘Esports’, I know many of you must heard this word before, maybe you don’t really know much about this career, but there is so many people who want to get in to this industry. Especially recently , due to quarantine , more people stayed at home and they spent more time on games. In the following paragraphs, I would like to talk about a life of a professional Esports player, how to become a player, the daily life, and after retire, what can they do.
1.Becoming a professional player
There are a lot of people that want to be a professional player, so do I. However, it is not that easy to become a professional player. To become a professional player, you need to put lots of efforts and times. You need to pick a game that interested you which is famous. The first way is you need to climb the ladder in the game. IF you want to become a pro player you need to have a strong desire to win all the games. Climbing the ladder is one of the way. When you are on the top of the scoreboard, you can make a name for yourself. This can help you to find a spot on an amateur team which means it can be a stepping stone to a pro gaming organization. It is because when you joined a amateur team, participate in some small tournament and get good results, you may have a chance of getting invited to a big organisation. Joining a amateur team is a good way to appeal yourself.
The second way is to join the academy team of big organisation. Academy teams are the place that give young prodigies opportunities that they might not have. IF you are doing good in the academy team, you may have a chance to stand in for the main team. This ensured you can gain valuable experience and also toreceive some attention, which could potentially interest future teams in picking you.
2.Life of a player
Playing video games everyday and getting paid, it sounds like a wonderful job for many people. You may think it is an easy job and everyone can do it, but in fact, it is not an easy job. A professional player have to practice at least 8 hours everyday which means they have to sit in front of the computer almost everyday. Pro players need to use part of it to learn strategies, tips, and techniques to optimize the current meta. They need to memorize all those kind of things, watch VODs to analyse enemy teams, also becoming a pro player is stressful if they didn’t perform well. They might get replaced by other players, step down from the active roster. Also to deal with haters on social medias like others famous people. Being a pro player is not all about playing video games every day, physical exercises are also important to them. If they only sit in front of computer every day, it is not healthy, so almost every esports organization provides facilities to their players to exercise. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle will allow you to stay motivated to improve your skills that attract top esports organization.
Of course there is an age limit for Esports. Many players started their pro player’s life from maybe 16 or 18 years old and retired at their thirties. Maybe many of you may think that those ‘Pro Player’ don’t have future after they retired, but it is not true. After they retired, there are still many jobs are waiting for them. If they can become a pro player, this mean that they have a lot of experiences in compete with other in that one specific game and they can use their experiences to help other teams, many organisations will try to hire them as a coach for their team. If they don’t to be a coach they can be a commentator, a full time streamer, or even start their own Esports organisation like TSM(Team Solo Mid), a team that was found by a retired pro player, and it is one of the world biggest , top Esports organisation now. Live streamer is also a good choice for these retired players, people love to watch high level gameplay, and this is one thing that attract a lot of people to watch stream. The earing from streaming games is more than you thought. Hope you know more about the pro players after reading this.
