1 Why is Shibuya Station complicated?

Isn’t Shibuya Station too hard to reach the spots you want to go? Shibuya Station was refurbished in 2013 because Toyoko Line was connected with Fukutoshin Line. Because Fukutoshin Line is a subway, Toyoko Line went down under ground. Before this construction, Toyoko Line was next to JR and it’s easy to change trains on the ground.

 

2 The structure of Shibuya Station

  • B3: Den-en-toshi Line, Hanzomon Line

  • Platform 4: Saikyo and Shonan-Shinjuku Lines bound for Osaki and Yokohama, as well as airport-bound Narita Express services.

Hanzomon Line/Den-en-toshi Line

  • Platform 1: Den-en-toshi Line bound for Futakotamagawa and Chuo-Rinkan
  • Platform 2: Hanzomon Line bound for Oshiage

Toyoko Line/Fukutoshin Line

  • Platform 3&4: Toyoko Line bound for Yokohama, Motomachi-Chukagai
  • Platform 5&6: Fukutoshin Line bound for Wakoshi

 

3 From Toyoko Line/Fukutoshin Line to JR

First of all, you should get off from Car No.5 and take an escalator. Then go straight and make a U-turn. Take another escalator.

Go through the Miyamasuzaka Central Ticket Gate.

Take an escalator of left side and take another escalator. When you land on the ground, turn left and turn right. Finally, you reach the JR Line.

 

4 From Keio-inokashira Line to JR

First of all, you should get off from the head of a train and go through Central Exit of Keio-inokashira Line.

Go straight of right side and turn right. You’ll arrive at the gate.

 

5 From Toyoko Line/Fukutoshin Line to Den-en-toshi Line/Hanzomon Line

First of all, you should get off from Car No.5 and take an escalator. Turn left and go strait. When you take an escalator or go up the stairs, you’ll reach the platform. The left train is Den-en-toshi Line and the right train is Hanzomon Line.

 

6 From Toyoko Line/Fukutoshin Line to Keio-inokashira Line

Go halfway the same way to JR (Get off from Car No.5 and take an escalator. Then go straight and make a U-turn. Take another escalator. Then you go through the Miyamasuzaka Central Ticket Gate.). Turn left and go straight.

Turn left at the Exit No.8 and take an escalator. Go straight and follow the Ginza Line.

Turn left and go up the stairs. Then go straight.

Walk the right side.

You can see the Scramble Crossing on your right. In the night, you’ll see like this.

 

When you keep going straight, you’ll see the gate.

7 Where are information centers?

After you read this article, are you still lost? You should go and ask the information centers. In Shibuya Station, there are some information desks. Watch your time because they open slow and close early. I’ll show you them.

 

1) WANDER COMPASS SHUBUYA

It renewaled of tourist information office on 19th October 2018. It’s located at B1 floor of Toyoko Line and Den-en-toshi Line. There are tatami mat and brochures of sightseeing around Tokyo. If you go there, you’ll get a silicon band and a badge as novelties. When you put them on and go to affiliated stores, you’ll have services of benefits.

 

2) Shibuya Chika-michi lounge

Anybody can use this space. It’s located at B1 floor of Toyoko Line and Den-en-toshi Line. (10:00-20:00)

 

3) Shibuya Station Tourist Information Desk

It’s located at the B2 floor. (10:00-19:00)

4) Guideboard of Touch Panels

There’re two size of touch panels; 20 inches and 55 inches. You can search the information whatever you want.
