Starbucks is a world-famous cafe and has over 1500 stores in Japan. The most stylish Starbucks I think of is the Kamakura Onarimachi store in Kamakura. Here, I would like to introduce the stylish parts of Starbucks at Kmamkura Onarimachi store.

2. Stylish interior

Starbucks Kamakura Onarimachi store is one of the few Regional Landmark Stores in Japan. The Regional Landmark Store is a store that is designed in a symbolic place in each region of Japan and transmits the culture of the region to the world. Therefore, those stores are more fashionable than others. In addition to the Kamakura Onarimachi store, there are Regional Landmark Stores such as the Kawagoe Kanetsukidori store in Saitama and the Dazaifu Tenmangu Omotesando store in Fukuoka.

The Kamakura Onarimachi store is located in the prime location of Kamakura, and was built on the site of the residence of Ryuichi Yokoyama, a manga artist famous for “Fuku-chan.” Therefore, the interior of the store has a high ceiling and is an open space. Also, the original four-frame cartoon of “Fuku-chan” is on display.

There are stylish chairs and tables in the long terrace seats.

In the garden, the cherry trees, wisteria trellis and pool that Mr. Ryuichi Yokoyama loved are left as they are.

3. STARBUKS RESERVE

Do you know STARBUKS RESERVE? STARBUKS RESERVE is a special brand for those who want to enjoy a better coffee. In other words, you can drink authentic coffee at STARBUKS RESERVE stores.  Kamakura Onarimachi store is one of the few STARBUCKS RESERVE stores.

At the STARBUCKS RESERVE store, you can choose your favorite from more than 10 types of coffee beans.

Coffee beans named HOUSE BLEND are my number one recommendation. HOUSE BLEND is a coffee with a low sourness and a very good aroma. Therefore, House Blend goes well with Starbucks cakes.

You can also buy limited coffee beans, tumblers, mugs, etc. at the reserve store.

4. Limited sweets

At the Kamakura Onarimachi store, you can eat limited sweets in addition to the usual Starbucks food. The limited sweets are “LA MAREE DE CHA YA” cakes that are famous in Hayama, and can only be eaten at three Starbucks stores in Japan, including the Kamakura Onarimachi store.  Among them, I will introduce two cakes that are particularly delicious.

Name: Fruit roll cake

Price: 500yen + tax

Taste: A lot of fruit is in a cream that is not too sweet. The outside sponge is fluffy and you can eat as much as you want.

Name: Mango & Orange Siboost

Price: 540yen + tax

Taste: Excellent compatibility between mango and orange. Sweetness that goes well with coffee.

5. Finally

Since Kamakura is a famous tourist destination in Japan, it is very crowded. Therefore, when visiting the Starbucks Kamakura Onarimachi store, I recommend that you come early in the morning.
