Introduction
During the corona pandemic, it is sure that the period of outdoor activities will be less. Everyone will try to work or having lessons at home. The shops close early. The normal entertainment industry decreases dramatically. However, there is one kind of it growing up fast. That is virtual idol.
Difference between normal idol and virtual idol
Virtual idols seem to be similar to the normal idol. They will sing and dance but for more, they can also need to play digital games and participate in some collaboration which similar to the variety show we see in the TV. On the other hand, being a virtual idol is safer than a normal idol. There are two reasons, the personal information is being protected and no need to scare of being followed by paparazzies. It is believed that idols just like normal people but there is always some news about idols being doxed and tracked. However, virtual idols do not show their real name and any other self-information to the public. Therefore, they are being well-protected. On the other way to say, any of the bad news on their real life would not affect their popularity, which is very different from the normal idols.
Other than the privacy, virtual idol’s live performance is also much easier to success than the normal idols. There may be some mistakes such as health control, forget the lyrics and miss the steps during the dance. Virtual idols can take the video before the live and using animation production to set up the background and the quality of performance. To conclude it, virtual idols usually can participate in a high quality of performance with a low risk of making mistakes.
Virtual idol company
For a deeper introduction on virtual idols, I want to introduce the company that support them. There are two largest companies which are Hololive from cover production and NIJISANJI from Ichikara company. They owned a lot of virtual idols. Especially Hololive, which developed HoloJP, HoloEn (faced to the oversea audience) and the HoloIN (faced to the Indonesian audience).
Usada Pekora, the vtuber I recommand
This time, I want to introduce one of my favourite virtual idol from hololive. She is Usada Pekora.
She has a blue hair and her twin tail with carrots. She hails from the nation of Pekoland, where she claims she is a member of royalty. While not much is currently known about Pekoland. She is an animal- human and being said as a long lifespan, and that the rabbit-motif apparent in Pekora’s fashion and accessories is significant to their culture. Her personality can be described as outwardly bratty, haughty, immature and surly, but genuinely playful and friendly. However, due to the collaboration with someone who first met. She is not good at communicating with them.
She is the third generation of vtubers in hololive. She started her stream on 13 June 2019. Until now, she has 1.19 millions of subscribers in youtube and got the fourth in the ranking of female steamers of 2020. She usually plays games and singing cover songs in her stream.
For more, she is a very special streamer. She has a specific suffix that putting peko in her sentence. She makes poem in twitter before the live stream every time. She has a distinctive laugh like AH↓ HA↑ HA↑ HA↑ and also shouting PE↗ KO↘ PE↗ KO↘ PE↗ KO↘ sometimes. Although she is not very good at gaming, she always has some special idea on her gaming. Especially, in Minecraft, she builds a lot of beautiful buildings which make me surprised. On the other hand, she always plays tricks on her friends while streaming. The best video I think is her collaboration with sakura miko who is the member in first generation of hololive. They are best friend and has have an original song called pekomiko daisenso which also has become a song in a music game.
There are several reasons that I like to watch her stream. The first one is she acts like a comedian. Every time she plays tricks on others, she will also be being trapped by herself because of her arrogant. I think everyone loves watching someone being punished after doing bad things. Just like team rocket in pokemon. The other reason is she is quite good at singing. I usually listen to her singing when I am doing homework.
