The differences between NPB and MLB

Baseball is one of the most popular sports in Japan. NPB (Nihon professional Baseball) is the main professional baseball league in Japan. NPB has 12 teams in total and there are separated to central league (ce-league) and pacific league (pa-league). MLB is also professional baseball leagues in the United States and Canada. A total of 30 teams play in the National League (NL) and American League (AL), with 15 teams in each league.

There is a difference between NPB and MLB. One of the differences of it is strike zone. The rule of the strike zone is the area over home plate from the midpoint between a batter’s shoulders and the top of the uniform pants. However in MLB, higher ball wouldn’t be strike but lower ball would be strike. Also cheering is banned in MLB. Cheering with flags and instrument is one of the best part of Japanese baseball, but it is banned in MLB.
